Simmons School of Social Work was founded in 1904 as a joint venture with Harvard University, to train social workers to create meaningful change for individuals, families, and communities.
SocialWork@Simmons — our online Master of Social Work (MSW) program — welcomes a new generation of social advocates into the Simmons community and empowers them to address the most pressing issues affecting our society.
SocialWork@Simmons is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
Simmons MSW students and alumni are dedicated advocates who work to empower all individuals, especially those who have been historically marginalized or oppressed. Our rigorous curriculum, developed and led by expert Simmons faculty, incorporates social justice values and a multicultural perspective to prepare students for direct practice in a wide range of clinical settings.
Students partner with a practicum placement specialist to find a site in or near their communities, where they gain hands-on experience and develop confidence as professional social workers.
