Accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, Simmons’ online Master of Social Work (MSW) program prepares you for direct practice with individuals, families, and groups in a variety of environments. In the program, you will attend online classes, complete engaging coursework, gain field experience in or near your community, and prepare for licensure.

Program Track Options

The core of the Simmons mission is placing students first. Our MSW online program is designed so that you can earn your master’s anywhere in the U.S. at a pace that fits your schedule and career goals. Tracks include:

  • Accelerated full time: Complete the program in four terms and as few as 16 months
  • Standard full time: Complete the program in six terms and as few as 23 months
  • Extended part time: Complete the program in eight terms and as few as 32 months

Simmons also offers an advanced standing program for students who have earned their Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and meet certain academic requirements.

MSW Certificates

As a student in the program, you may also pursue a certificate with your MSW. Each certificate program option allows you to gain specialized skills and an understanding in a particular area of practice by learning from Simmons faculty who are experts in these knowledge areas. Certificates include:
